Annual, 30-150 cm, glabrous or sparingly hairy. Stems weak, branched. Leaves petiolate, pinnate with 3-5 leaflets; leaflets ovate, serrate; terminal leaflet petiolulate, lateral leaflets sessile or decurrent. Heads about 1 cm in diameter, discoid or with very short white ray-florets; disc-florets yellow. Outer involucral bracts oblong, connate at base; inner bracts longer and broader. Achenes linear-tetragonal, 8-10 x 1 mm, ribbed, minutely tuberculate and sparsely strigulose; marginal achenes shorter, compressed. Pappus-awns 2-4.
