A. fuscum s. str., an endemic of the Balkan peninsula, does not occur in Cyprus and the E Mediterranean. Records from division 7 (Meikle 1985 "A. paniculatum subsp. fuscum") may refer to A. dentiferum and/or other taxa. Currently under reconsideration.
